All Engelbert's horns

This photo shows some detail of the logo engraving. A lovely piece of work.
I am very proud to own two horns made by Engelbert Schmid. |

A yellow brass handhorn (the design of which is based
on a horn by Ignaz Lorenz, of Linz).

An unlacquered gold-brass double horn with a stopping
valve. This is the best modern horn I have ever played on. I feel very
fortunate to own it. I have two different screw-fitting bells for this
instrument. One is described as "wide", is of relatively thick metal and
has a hand-engraved nickel-silver garland (this is the one which has been
decorated). The other is described
as "medium", is of thinner brass, has no garland and thus is very lightweight.
Each of these bells gives the horn a completely different blowing feel
and a rather different sound. I use the lightweight bell for chamber music
and the bigger one for everything else.
